This one is the reference 116523 with the black diamond dial, dated 2014. Solid 18k yellow gold engraved tachymeter bezel — the whole visual signature of this reference — paired with the two-tone Oyster bracelet with Oysterlock clasp. The diamond hour markers sit clean against the matte black dial. The three silver sub-registers give the dial proper Daytona contrast without going busy.
Inside is the calibre 4130, Rolex’s in-house chronograph movement that ran the entire 116-series Daytona from 2000 to 2016. Column wheel, vertical clutch, 72-hour power reserve, Superlative Chronometer certified. The 116523 was discontinued in 2016 when Rolex moved the two-tone Daytona to ceramic with the 116503. The gold engraved tachymeter format on this reference is gone for good — they don’t make this configuration anymore.
