The Reverso is 95 years old. Jacques-David LeCoultre designed it in 1931 for British Army officers playing polo in India who kept smashing crystals on the field — flip the case around, protect the watch face, keep playing. Nobody plays polo in a Reverso anymore, but the design still solves a problem nobody has and looks better than everything else on the dress-watch shelf while doing it.
This one is the Reverso Tribute Monoface reference Q716848J in the boutique-only Blue dial — a specific shade of deep sunray blue that Jaeger-LeCoultre only sells through their own boutiques. You can’t walk into a regular JLC dealer and buy this dial. Which makes it a genuinely harder find on the wrist than the standard silver or grey Reverso Tributes every dealer carries. Applied baton markers, dauphine hands, blue leather strap that matches the dial cleanly.
Monoface means single dial — as opposed to Duoface, which puts a second dial on the flip side for a second time zone. Here the reverse is guilloche-finished, clean, uninterrupted. The manual-wind in-house movement is shaped to the rectangular case — you have to see a Reverso movement in cross-section to appreciate how much engineering goes into fitting a proper hand-wound calibre into that footprint. Nothing off-the-shelf about it.
This example is dated 2026, new and unworn, full set with the original Jaeger-LeCoultre box and papers. The warranty has been extended to August 2034 under JLC Care — the manufacturer’s extended coverage program giving you a full eight years of factory warranty from purchase. At $12,500 for a boutique-exclusive Reverso Tribute in unworn full-set condition with eight years of warranty running, this is a rare find outside of the JLC boutique itself.
